F. Paul Chounet, Ed.D.

Dr. Chounet has over 30 years of demonstrated leadership in the public, private & military sectors.  Dr. Chounet has earned his degrees from California State University-Stanislaus, California State University-Fresno & University of California, Davis.

Dr. Chounet was born and raised in Central California. After high school, he served in the U.S. Navy for six years and worked in agricultural management for twelve years before starting his career in education as a high school math teacher.   He has served as a Lecturer, Teacher, Technology Coordinator, Research Assistant, Information Systems Director, Associate Superintendent & most recently, Superintendent in Wasco Union Elementary School District for three years.   In addition to six years of active Navy service he served 24 years in the Navy Reserves.

He looks forward to joining our Santa Paula Community to use his knowledge, skills, abilities and experience to positively impact the educational and social growth of our children.  He demonstrates a strong desire for continuous improvement in his personal and professional growth.  As Superintendent, he will strive to provide the vision, leadership, human relations, organization and fiscal management to ensure our students receive the first-class education they deserve.

Dr. Chounet has three adult children and one granddaughter: Rochelle a homemaker with granddaughter Josephine in Spanaway, Washington; Natalie, an Air Force Civil Engineering Officer serving in Greenland; and Frank a Port Operations Manager in Long Beach, California.
